Nana was larger than life. She went by "Dash" because she was always quick with an anecdote, quick with
support, and quick with love. She grew up as poor as it gets but worked her tail off to give her kids
the world. She put my mom through Yale, and was a massive influence in my world. 8 years ago I stopped
by her house to say hi on the way home from a work meeting and immediately knew something was wrong.
Days later she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and my world was rocked. I spent most of her remaining
days with her, but she left us just months after the diagnosis. Endometriosis affected her quality of
life, but she never let it define her.
When I got the opportunity to run for Endofound, I jumped on it right away. No one should have to go
through the pain Nana did - the pain felt by 10% of women go through. Dr. Seckin and his team are doing
amazing work and deserve all the funding in the world. Today, I Run for Endofound, I Run for
Endometriosis, and I Run4Nana.
I've been delayed with fundraising efforts, but my team has gotten us within $6K of our $200K goal! Please consider donating any amount you can to help us reach our goal and End Endometriosis!
